Lord Yamakage who opened Sojiji Temple is respected as the forerunner of kitchen knife ceremony. Yamakage style ceremony is still preserved to this day.

The kitchen knife ceremony was originated when the master of the house cooked in front of his guests at the dinner in ancient times.
They say it has continued since the Muromachi era.
